Monthly Statutory Compliance Calendar for Indian Companies

Updated 31 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Compliance in India isn't hard because of any single filing. It's hard because there are dozens of them, spread across laws and departments, every month. A calendar with owners turns it into routine.

Every month

  • 7th: TDS and TCS deducted last month deposited (March's by 30 April)
  • 11th: GSTR-1 for monthly filers
  • 15th: PF contribution and ECR, ESI contribution
  • 20th: GSTR-3B and GST payment for monthly filers
  • Professional tax: date depends on the state (for example, end of the month in some states)

Every quarter

  • TDS returns: 31 July (Q1), 31 October (Q2), 31 January (Q3), 31 May (Q4)
  • Advance tax: 15 June (15%), 15 September (45%), 15 December (75%), 15 March (100%)

Once a year (for a company with a March year end)

  • 15 June: Form 16 to employees
  • 30 June: DPT-3 return of deposits, if applicable
  • 30 September: AGM, DIR-3 KYC for directors, tax audit report where applicable
  • Within 15 days of AGM: ADT-1 for auditor appointment
  • Within 30 days of AGM: AOC-4 financial statements
  • 31 October: income tax return for audit cases; MSME-1 for April to September
  • Within 60 days of AGM: MGT-7 annual return
  • 30 November: statutory bonus payment
  • 31 December: GSTR-9 annual return (and 9C where required)
  • 31 January: POSH annual report to the district officer in most states
  • 30 April: MSME-1 for October to March

Dates can be extended by notification, and some depend on your state, so verify each year.

What a missed date costs

GST charges a late fee per day plus interest on late tax. Late TDS deposit carries interest per month, and late TDS returns have a fee per day. PF delays attract damages and interest. ROC filings carry additional fees that keep growing. Even small amounts add up across a year.

A routine that works

1. One list, one owner per item. Accounts, HR, company secretary or the CA firm.
2. Weekly 10-minute check of what's due in the next 7 days.
3. Mark each item done with the date, so the record is ready for auditors.
4. Switch off what doesn't apply so the list stays honest.

Our Statutory Compliance Calendar has every one of these dates for the financial year, updates with one change of year, and shows owners, status and what's overdue.
