A SIP (systematic investment plan) puts a fixed amount into a mutual fund every month. A step-up SIP increases that amount every year, usually in line with your salary.

Why step up?

Your income grows, so your savings should too. Even a 10% yearly increase can make a big difference over 15 years because the extra money also compounds.

How to choose numbers

  • Monthly amount: start with what you can continue in a bad month
  • Expected return: use a conservative number; returns are not guaranteed
  • Step-up: 5–10% a year is common

Try different numbers in the free SIP calculator. To plan goals like education or a home, use the SIP, Goals & Net Worth Tracker.

Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. This is not investment advice; consider a SEBI-registered adviser.
